Most good furniture has already been made.
We find it. Assess it. Understand what it needs and what it doesn’t. Some pieces come back through restoration. Others arrive as new production, built on archival work worth returning to. All of it selected through the same eye, held to the same standard.
The company works across two directions: Gallery and Studio. Not as opposites. Not as categories. As two expressions of a single point of view.
What that point of view is, exactly, is difficult to articulate. A preference for restraint over statement. For presence over decoration. For furniture that earns its place in a room rather than demanding it.
We work primarily in Scandinavian design — drawn to the decades when craft and concept were still the same conversation. To the well-known pieces, occasionally. More often to the ones that never quite got their moment.
Behind the company is Edward Gubi — third generation of a family that has spent decades shaping that world. The knowledge runs deep. The intention is to wear it lightly.
Design Preowned exists for the rooms that are thought through. For the people who understand that a single considered piece can do more than a room full of the obvious.
We find what holds a space.
We make what deserves to exist.
We restore what shouldn’t be lost.
