Sustainable Wool Choices
Opting for wool is a sustainable choice that combines comfort, durability, and aesthetic appeal. We offer two types of wool: worsted and woolen-spun. Worsted wool features tightly twisted yarns for a smooth, sleek finish, while woolen-spun yarns are twisted to enhance texture and softness. Both types of wool, require proper care to maintain their quality. Regular vacuuming with an upholstery attachment and gentle brushing with a soft clothing brush for worsted wool are essential. For stains, using an eco-friendly dry cleaning solution like “Clean Wool and Hair” by Leather Master is recommended. These practices help extend the lifespan and appearance of your woolen furniture, guaranteeing it remains a sustainable and attractive choice.
Prime Leather
Leather, being a natural material, necessitates proper care. When leather is maintained correctly, it develops a more exquisite appearance over time. To properly care for leather, regularly vacuum it with a soft brush attachment and avoid using soap or water to maintain its texture. Keep leather away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and sharp objects to prevent damage. Refrain from applying leather greases or chemical cleaners, and instead, let it naturally develop a beautiful patina over time.
Wood and Finish
We exclusively utilize vegetable oils for our wood treatment process. For everyday upkeep, use a cloth dampened with lukewarm water. The surface can be revitalized with a fresh oil treatment—make sure the surface is clean and dry, apply oil with a clean cloth, following the wood grain, and wipe off excess oil with another clean, dry cloth. Allow it to dry for one to two days, depending on the type of oil used. Take care to avoid getting oil on materials like fabric or leather, as oil-treated furniture may leave grease marks until fully set.
Painted Wood
The painted chair surface is prone to picking up fingerprints that can easily leave unsightly marks. To maintain the chair’s attractive glossy appearance, gently wipe it daily using a dry microfiber cloth. For light dirt, use a damp cloth moistened with clean water. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners as they can harm the paint, possibly leading to irreparable damage. Refrain from using sharp tools during cleaning to prevent scratches on the painted surface. Pay attention to items like wristwatches, buttons, and clothing buckles, as they can inadvertently cause damage. In case of marks or minor scratches, consider using repair paint available at the furniture’s point of purchase. Note that repaired surfaces may not match the original glossy finish precisely, with imperfections tending to be more noticeable on high-gloss surfaces.
Stained Furniture Stained furniture undergoes a process where color pigments dissolved in water are applied to the wood’s surface to achieve the desired color tone. Staining is an initial step before applying clear varnish to enhance durability and protect the surface from scratches. Routine cleaning methods for stained furniture are similar to those used for painted furniture. For any damage to the surface, particularly if it affects the underlying stain, seek professional repair services for effective restoration.
Lacquered Surfaces Regular care for lacquered surfaces involves wiping them with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a microfiber cloth dipped in a mild washing solution. Lacquer acts as a protective sealant, making it harder for liquids and dirt to damage the wood. However, scratches on lacquered surfaces are irreversible. It takes about four weeks for lacquered surfaces to fully harden, during which extra caution is advised. Even after hardening, these surfaces remain sensitive to heat, alcohol, and moisture. Applying an extra coat of lacquer can significantly prolong the lifespan of these durable and classic designs by up to 20 years.
